Massey University

Palmerston North Boys' High and Massey University

There is a close relationship between Massey University and Palmerston North Boys' High School. Each year, a significant number of young men leaving PNBHS enrol at our local university. Our two organisations share common interests in providing the best in educational opportunities for our communities, and there are currently many points of contact between parents, young men and the staff of both school and university.

Massey University strongly supports enhanced opportunities for accelerate students. The papers are taught at school by school staff, but university requirements must be met.  This includes completing any practical work at Massey University.

Students wishing to enrol in these papers must have gained an average of a Merit grade in the corresponding NCEA Level 3 subject. Students will need to have achieved University Entrance to be able to enrol in these papers.

At present, Massey University papers are offered in the following subject areas:

  • Accounting
  • Biology
  • Calculus
  • Chemistry
  • Economics
  • History
  • Linear Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Statistics
