Palmerston North Boys' High Schools Year 13 programme aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain University Entrance. It predominantly has an academic focus, however provides some options for those students interested in vocational pathways. Students typically study 5 Level 3 subjects and also have time allocated for study. Multi-level students (students studying at Level 2 and 3) are required to study 6 subjects. Students that have undertaken the accelerate programme may be eligible to sit first year Massey University papers in Calculus, Statistics, Accounting, Economics, History and Geography. These are completed through advanced scholarship classes. |

All students in Year 13 take part in our Recreation option. This provides students with the opportunity to take part in activities off-site with outside providers. This can include anything from Ten-Pin Bowling to Defensive Driving Courses. This programme operates once a week for a majority of the school year. Part of the Year 13 programme is our annual Mountain Trip. This week long trip in February is compulsory for all students in Year 13. All students are accommodated in lodges on Mt Ruapehu where they can experience communal living first hand and are challenged physically both on the mountain and at Waiouru Army Camp. |
