Chris Arbuthnott Aiming for Rio
Year 12 student Chris Arbuthnott is aiming for Rio.
Chris, who was born with an arm that wasn’t formed below the elbow, is moving into the elite levels in para-swimming in New Zealand and has the 2016 Rio games as one of his goals.
Chris spoke at assembly this morning about his journey in swimming and ambitions for the future. Today, September 7, marks one year until the 2016 Paralympics and the start of a major fundraising drive by Paralympics New Zealand.

Mitchell James – ‘We’ll Meet Again Another Day’
Year 13 student Mitchell James has written a song, ‘We’ll Meet Again Another Day’, in memory of Mr Dawson Tamatea. Mitchell first performed this song to the school at assembly a couple of weeks ago. It has since been recorded so that it can be shared with Mr Tamatea’s whanau and friends.
