PTA

Welcome to the wider PNBHS community.  Joining the PTA is a great way to get involved in your son's school community.  The PTA provides a valuable link between parents/caregivers and the school.

ABOUT US

  • prize-giving venue and 7th form leavers' supper,
  • staff children's Xmas party,
  • funding of the school newsletter postage,
  • fundraising,
  • curriculum needs on an annual basis, and
  • finance speakers.

MEETINGS

  • Parents/caregivers are welcome to join us in the school library at 5.30 pm, usually on the second Tuesday of the month. For exact dates refer to the school calendar.  The meetings are informal and last approximately one hour.
  • If you are unable to attend regular meetings you may wish to join our 'Friends of the PTA' group who we call on from time to time to assist with various  activities.
  • If you are interested in becoming a 'friend' of the PTA, please contact the Secretary Lorna Johnson at  lornaajohnson@clear.net,nz

LEVY

Families are levied $20.00 each year which is invoiced with the school fees.  This money is used to sponsor the printing and mailing of the school newsletter as we see this as an important means of communicating with parents.

EVENTS and FUNDRAISING

  • We hold fundraising events each year and the proceeds of these are used to fund various projects, one being the recent upgrade of the Quad area, which is progressively being finished.  Work includes providing covered areas, seating, garden work, named pavers, memorial plaques for deceased students, re-sealing of the quad area, new rubbish bins and drinking facilities.
  • We also contribute annually to curriculum needs.  Some of the latest contribution are 20 Thesaurus, Editing System-Media Studies/Sport, Camera-Archives/School Newsletter/Website and Blazers.
  • The PTA pays for the hire of the stadium for prize-giving and hosts and provides the leavers' supper which follows.
  • Staff members' younger children enjoy an annual Xmas party put on by the PTA.

If you would like to know more contact The Secretary, Lorna Johnson at  lornaajohnson@clear.net,nz
