WEEK 1 ORGANISATION

THURSDAY, 1 FEBRUARY

8:40am	Meet outside the Speirs Centre for the pōwhiri.  The Year 9 Deans, Mr Moore and Mr Cudby, as well as some of our senior students will be on hand to assist.
8:45am	Pōwhiri in the school hall.
10.15am	Welcome from the Year 9 Deans.  Allocation of students into form classes followed by form class time.  Students will be issued with wall planners and diary, a grooming check will be conducted and they will spend time with their form teachers.  Year 13 Mentor students will be working with junior students.
11.10am	Interval
11.30am	Teaching lesson.  This class will be taught by the Form Teacher.  Students will be given homework to complete this evening.
12.25pm	Year 9 meeting in the school hall followed by a meeting for all bus students.
1.20pm	Lunch
2.20pm	Teaching lesson – core subject class.  Students will be given homework to complete this evening.
3.20pm	End of school

During the day each Year 9 student will be issued with their Palmerston North Boys’ High School ID card.  This can then be used to borrow books from the school library, for printing and photocopying and is necessary for bus students.

All students require an appropriate reading book for SSR (Sustained Silent Reading) with them every day from tomorrow.  This must be an extended text (either fiction or non-fiction), not a magazine, comic book etc.

During the first few weeks of school, all Year 9 students will be given their usernames and passwords for the school computer network and will be logged into Stratus, our online learning management system.
