Library

The Palmerston North Boys' High School Library extends a warm welcome to all boys, staff members and visitors. Our primary concern is to create a comfortable and creative environment, where students can enjoy a variety of activities both pleasant and conducive to life-long learning.

Facilities

  • Extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction, with a special area for Short Stories.
  • 18 Magazine titles are available for reading in the library. Staff may sign them out for a few days.
  • Range of educational as well as leisure time DVDs.
  • 20 Computers for online research on subscribed databases.
  • Large screen and data-projector for PowerPoint shows
  • DVD player and TV in a comfortable corner.
  • Comic Corner with a range of graphic novels from Batman to Wuthering Heights

     

Services

  • Boys may take out 5 books for 3 weeks. Staff may take up to 20 for 1 month.
  • DVDs are loaned overnight to students. Staff may take them for longer periods.
  • DVDs may also be watched after school in the library.
  • Boys may use the printer and photocopier.
  • There is internet access in the library from 9.00am to 4.30pm.
