About Us

The Board of Trustees undertake the governance of Palmerston North Boys’ High School on behalf of the community.

The policies of the School, as endorsed by the Board, ensure that the School is governed effectively and that all young men will receive outstanding educational opportunities in a safe and secure environment.

The Board is made up of members from various sectors of the Palmerston North community.

The current Board of Trustees of PNBHS include:

2025 Triennial School Board Elections
 
School boards are elected by the school community every three years, and this year marks another election period. All schools will hold their elections simultaneously.
 
You will soon receive essential information via email, including nomination and voting forms, directly from Schooled Election Pilot. They will serve as the “Returning Officer” for our elections and will oversee our online Board Elections.
 
The timetable for the PNBHS Board Elections are:
Friday, 18th July – Call for Nominations
Monday, 4th August – Close Supplementary Roll
Wednesday, 6th August (12 noon) – Nominations Close
Wednesday, 13th August – Voting Papers Issued
Wednesday, 10th September – Election Day – (Poll Closes 4pm)
Tuesday, 16th September – Votes Counted and Results Declared

We have received 13 nominations for five vacancies so our Board election will continue to a vote.  Voting instructions will be emailed to all parties on the electoral roll on Wednesday, August 13.  Thank you to all candidates for your support of Palmerston North Boys’ High School.

Mr David Bovey

Rector

Mr Bovey was appointed as the ninth Rector of Palmerston North Boys’ High School from the beginning of term four, 2012. Prior to this appointment, Mr Bovey was employed as a teacher of English at Palmerston North Boys’ High School from 1998 to 2002, and later returned as Deputy Rector from 2008 until the beginning of term four, 2012.

As Rector, Mr Bovey provides the link between the Board of Trustees, who have a governance role, and the day-to-day leadership and management of Palmerston North Boys’ High School.
